Refurbishment & Upgrade

Refurbishment and upgrade projects are mostly implemented as standalone projects but can also be incorporated into O&M contracts. Standalone projects are obtained through competitive bidding.

As part of O&M contracts, WSSA follows the following steps:

  • Conduct condition grading.
  • Compile project priority list.
  • Project implementation as per client’s approval.

WSSA has CIDB gradings of 9CE, 9ME and 9PE. These gradings allow WSSA to tender for projects that have a contract value in excess of R130,000,000.
