Amathole District Municipality
AmatholeProject Name: Mndwaka Dam
Technology: Labour Intensive Construction (LIC)
Client: Amathole District Municipality
Location: East London, Eastern Cape
Project Description: Construction for the Mndwaka Dam was a joint venture between WSSA, Zanamazi and Amanzi’ Abantu. The dam was constructed from Rubble Masonry Concrete (RMC), employed over 300 people, and is expected to provide water to over 40,000 people.

Location: Rapotokwane Village, Limpopo
Project Description: The Rapotokwane Water Supply project included the construction of approximately 7,500m of pipeline, drilling and equipping of three (3) boreholes, and a 9m elevated steel tank with a capacity of 350Kl.
Setsoto Local Municipality & DWS
SetsotoProject Name: Ficksburg Water Supply Scheme
Technology: Pipeline
Client: Setsoto Local Municipality and DWS
Location: Ficksburg, Free State
Project Description: The project was funded by DWS under the RBIG programme to augment the water supply to Ficksburg. The work on phase 1 includes the construction of a river abstraction system to pump water from Caledon river into the balancing dam, a reinforced concrete sand trap with a volume of approximately 0.5 Ml, a new pump station including all the civil, building, electrical and mechanical works, approximately 1600m of 400mm and 350mm steel pipelines, a new pipeline into the Meulspruit Dam which supplies Ficksburg, and associated valves, chambers, electrical building and other structures.
