Rural Water and Sanitation
| Often, the provision of water and sanitation services to rural communities is a complex task under the responsibility of under-resourced municipal structures or remote inexperienced community-based organisations (CBOs). WSSA has proactively undertaken to assist with the effective provision of water and sanitation services to rural communities and our proud track record in this regard includes: * The design, construction, operation and maintenance of water schemes for the entire Limpopo and Eastern Cape provinces through the DWA BoTT programme * VIP latrine construction, septic tank and conservancy tanker management * Water tanker management and tracking * Management, operation and maintenance of small water schemes (boreholes, springs and package plants) to large, conventional water treatment plants and bulk distribution infrastructure * Asset management and maintenance * Emergency water supply |

| To assist with the upliftment of these rural communities, WSSA also recruits staff from the areas in which it operates and offers them ongoing training and development. This ensures the sustainability of our interventions by equipping individuals and communities to work with, train and support CBOs and NGOs in the ongoing operation and maintenance of the schemes that are implemented. | |
